Grassroots Registration

Looking to get your little one into soccer?  Chinooks is offering a year-round comprehensive grassroots program for the following age groups:

  • U4 – players aged 3/4 born in 2017
  • U5 - players aged 4/5 born in 2016
  • U6's - players aged 6 born in 2015
  • U7/U8's - players aged 7&8 born in 2014 or 2013. The grassroots program for U7/U8 is a little less busy/less competitive compared to our CMSA program(s), with no formal games.

Locations: Grassroots programs will be held at:

NW - Absolute Dome, 2221 Crowchild Trail NW, Calgary, AB

Program Time:  Varies 4:00-4:50 p.m., 5:05 - 5:55 p.m. 6:00 - 6:50 p.m.

Program Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday depending on age/time

You will sign up for one time on one program day. 

We do offer the option to add another day/time (twice a week). Please contact admin@chinooksoccer.com for details.

Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) programs for older children begin in U7/U8, and we have other program offerings for players who would like to be challenged more - here.

Program Description – Grassroots Chinooks – U4  

A fun skills and games based introduction to playing soccer for 3&4 year old’s or born in 2017.  This Grassroots Play and Train program will allow young children to begin to cultivate a passion for the game, while developing an understanding of fair play, rules and applying themselves on the ball.  Each program day consists of 8 sessions - October to December, and January to March. We attempt to maintain a Participant Ratio of 6 players to 1 trainer at this age, and as such we may limit registrations until we achieve registration targets or put some registrations on a wait list until a registration number is achieved.  Preliminary class size is limited to 12 participants. 

Program – Grassroots Chinooks – U5 

A fun skills and games based introduction to playing soccer for 5 year old's or born in 2016.  This Grassroots Play and Train program will allow young children to begin to cultivate a passion for the game, while developing an understanding of fair play, rules and applying themselves on the ball.  Small-sided games are introduced, and physical literacy is further developed.  Each program day runs from October to February and consists of 16 sessions. We attempt to maintain a Participant Ratio of 8 players to 1 trainer, and as such we may limit registrations until we achieve registration targets or put some registrations on a wait list until a registration number is achieved.
