Luigi Caria - Goalie Academy

Luigi Caria – Goalkeeper Trainer

Luigi has been playing as a goalkeeper in Calgary, Alberta for 18 years. Throughout his soccer career, Luigi has won multiple provincial championships in both youth and men’s leagues and has been recognized for his achievements in the Calgary Herald. When he was only 17 years old he travelled to England to further his playing career, where he gained a wealth of knowledge. Upon his return to Canada, he played first string goalie for his high school soccer team, the St. Mary’s Saints, and Foothills FC. At the same time he began his coaching career with the high school women’s soccer team. While playing for Foothills FC, he and his team won 3rd place in Nationals. Shortly thereafter, he was given a full ride scholarship to Mount Royal College and ultimately won 4th place in intercollegiate Nationals. Luigi’s competitive experience brings a wealth of knowledge and skills that he is eager to teach others. He  believes that the most important part of the game takes place between your ears and works to inspire confidence in the mental aspect of the game, while developing a strong foundation of physical skills.
